Mercedes-Benz C-Class
There are three main variants of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. These are the C-Class Saloon, the C-Class Estate and the C-Class Coupé.
The latest C-Class Saloon combines excellent looks and supreme driving characteristics. The design of the front has been significantly changed and features a modified bumper, more aggressive looking air intakes, and different fog lights. These changes apply to both the SE and the Elegance trims. The Sports trim has a different radiator grill and LED daytime running lights, side skirts and front and rear aprons. The sport also includes 18 inch alloy wheels Inside there is a modified dashboard with a colour central display and multi-function steering wheel.
According to Mercedes, the C-Class Estate incorporates 2,000 improvements over the previous model. The external changes are similar to those on the Saloon but inside there is enhanced legroom and a huge 485 litres of boot space that can be increased by reconfiguring the seating to create a massive load space of 1.500 litres.
The C-Class Coupé has been restyled by AMG and it has all the appearance of a very powerful coupe; certainly it has some significant attitude. The car is considerably lower than the saloon, in fact a full 17 mm lower. The overall profile is more wedge-shaped and aerodynamic. The sporty appearance is continued inside the car with a modified instrument panel which features cylindrical instrument surrounds giving it an overall sporty feel. The seats are comfortable and supporting.
All of the C-Class variants offer the same line-up of engines and gearboxes. These include two very frugal BlueEFFICIENCY four cylinder petrol engine, a powerful V6 petrol engine and four diesel engines: the BlueEFFICIENCY C 220 CDI and the BlueEFFICIENCY C 250 CDI which have fuel consumptions of 55.4 and 53.3 mpg respectively plus two standard diesel units.
All of these models have gained a five star EuroNCAP crash test rating and feature some of the most advanced safety equipment you will find on any car.
